Yes — full-priced items can be returned within 14 days of delivery.

Sale items are eligible for store credit only.

A few things to note

  • We happily welcome returns of items in their original condition: new, unused, unwashed, and free of deodorant stains, with tags and hygienic liners intact. Returns not meeting these criteria will be sent back to the sender. 

  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • Restocking fees are deducted from refunds or store credit

Yes — we do offer exchanges, however while we transition all operations from New Zealand to Australia, our exchange process currently looks a little different depending on where your order is being shipped from.

At the moment, the following collections are held in our New Zealand warehouse:

  • Sale Items
  • Wildflower
  • The Green Room
  • Alex Mason

Our Where The Garden Meets The Sea collection is held in our Australia warehouse.

At the bottom of each product description, we’ll also let you know which warehouse your item is being shipped from.

New Zealand Orders

For pieces shipped from our New Zealand warehouse, we offer free outbound exchanges on NZ orders. You’ll just need to send your original item back to us at your own cost, and we’ll ship your exchanged item out free of charge.

For pieces shipped from our Australia warehouse, we are currently unable to offer direct exchanges. These items will need to be returned for a refund or store credit, and a new order can then be placed.

Australia Orders

For pieces shipped from our Australia warehouse, we offer free outbound exchanges on Australian orders. You’ll just need to return your original item at your own cost, and we’ll send your exchanged item out free of charge.

For pieces shipped from our New Zealand warehouse, we are currently unable to offer direct exchanges. These items will need to be returned for a refund or store credit, and a new order can then be placed.

International Orders

At this stage, we don’t offer direct international exchanges. International customers are welcome to return their item for a refund or store credit (minus the $10 restocking fee) and place a new order. This allows us to send your new piece out as quickly as possible.

Please note: we do not accept exchanges on sale items, only store credit.

How to start an exchange

You have 14 days from delivery to request an exchange.

A few things to note

  • Items must be unworn, unused, and in original condition
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Sale items are eligible for store credit only

Please note that we don’t accept refunds or exchanges for USA orders  due to the import tariffs and duties we’ve already paid, which are non-refundable.

If you’re based overseas and your item isn’t quite right, you’re welcome to on-sell it — our suits tend to find a new home quickly through local surf or buy/sell communities.

Items purchased on sale are eligible for store credit only— we do not offer refunds or exchanges on sale items.

A $10 restocking fee applies. We deduct $10 from your store credit.

We will email your online store credit (gift card) via email- check spam/ promotions.





If you opted for a store credit instead of a refund on your return you will receive this in the form of a virtual gift card. 

Once your return has been processed at our warehouse you will receive an email notification containing your gift card store credit. 

If you are having trouble locating this email please check any spam or promotions folders for it.

Shipping

We’re currently in a transition phase as we move our operations from New Zealand to Australia. During this time, our 2025 collections (Wildflower, The Green Room, Alex Mason) are still shipped from our NZ warehouse, while all 2026 collections are shipped from our new Australian warehouse. This is temporary and part of our move into Australia.

Standard Shipping: Orders delivered within 4-16 business days.

FREE on all orders over $200 AUD.

Flat rate $4 for orders under $200 AUD

As we transition from New Zealand to Australia, our 2025 collections (Wildflower, The Green Room, Alex Mason) will be shipped from our NZ warehouse. All 2026 collections are now shipped from our new Australian warehouse.

All orders are shipped out within 2 business days.

Flat rate $7 AUD for orders under $200 AUD.

We sure do! FREE shipping on all orders over $600 AUD. For all other orders shipping is calculated at checkout. 

Your order may be subject to import taxes and/or duties and charges, which are levied by your local government when the package reaches your country or when delivery is made, or billed to you afterwards.


We are not liable for these charges, and they unfortunately cannot be reimbursed or refunded.

If you are unsure of the charges and whether you will be affected, please contact your local customs office before placing your order to find out about Duties & Taxes in your country.

If you choose to refuse a parcel instead of paying the required duties and taxes, the return process can take3–6 weeks or longer. Since we are responsible for the return costs, a $60 AUD restocking fee will be deducted from your refund to cover these expenses.

Please note that Gemma Lee cannot be held liable for lost or damaged packages during shipment, nor for locating lost or stolen packages post-delivery, including both domestic and international orders.

Gemma Lee is unable to replace packages dispatched to incorrect or outdated addresses provided by the customer. We urge you to thoroughly review your shipping address before finalising your order to prevent any inconvenience.

Wetsuit Guarantee

We take pride in the quality of our craftmanship & premium materials. Your Gemma Lee suit is guaranteed against defective materials and faulty workmanship under normal use for 12 months from date of purchase (proof of purchase required). Warranty repairs are free of charge.

Gemma Lee will cover shipping costs if product is deemed under warranty.

Our warranty excludes neoprene damage from inappropriate recreational use, damage from extensive sunlight exposure, fin & finger nail cuts & negligence to follow care instructions. Warranty is not validated if you have the suit repaired at an unauthorised repair service. We know best how to care for a Gemma Lee suit.

It is at the discretion of our Gemma Lee experts whether your suit is repaired or replaced. We do our best to keep our Gemma Lee customers happy. You are very important to us.

Pre-orders

We’re so excited you’re shopping our preorder items! Here’s how it works:

  • Preorder items will be clearly marked on the products page
  • Your entire order will be shipped together once all items (including any preorder pieces) are ready to dispatch.
  • If your order includes any items from our NZ warehouse (2025 collections: Wildflower, The Green Room, Alex Mason), these will be shipped immediately from New Zealand.
    Your pre-order items will be fulfilled and shipped separately at a later date.
  • Estimated shipping dates for preorder items are listed in the product page description, so you’ll know when to expect your treasures.

Please note:
If you want in-stock items shipped separately, we recommend placing a separate order for those pieces.
